Loving My Children, part 2
Another aspect of loving our children involves spending time with them. What are some hindrances to spending quality time with your children? How can you overcome those hindrances?
My hindrances to spending time with my children are just the basic household chores: cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, etc... I often struggle with the feeling of "I HAVE to get the house cleaned" or "I HAVE to get dinner made without interruptions." I'm learning that to overcome these hindrances that I must see my children as valuable gifts from the Lord. It's my calling as a mom to love them and train them biblically. I can't do that if I'm not spending time with them. I'm also learning to incorporate time with them while doing chores like taking them shopping WITH me - sometimes a very draining experience! But in the end the clean house won't matter, what meals I made won't matter; what will matter is if I have glorified my Father in raising my children.
