Showing Love in Hard Times

A woman in your church is going through a tough time with the loss of a loved one. She does not seem to think that God loves her because of this tragedy in her life. She is unsure of her financial stability and does not know how she can continue.

How could you show her compassion?

In what ways could you practically and physically help her?

As an older single woman having someone to call when the furnace isn't working and when there is a broken window that needs attention makes all the difference to me. I am new in the small town I live in and seriously have that broken window and am not sure how to get it fixed. So, providing a newly widowed woman with a list of people to contact in times of emergency is something I thought of immediately during this discussion.

Sue,
What a great idea you shared with us! Certainly having a list of people a woman can contact for various needs would be very beneficial. The church family is a wonderful resource that God has given. In your case, are you part of a church that might be able to help you with your window? I trust that the Lord will provide the wisdom and means to get that fixed.

Thanks Sarah. I finally found someone to come and fix that window for me through a Bible study friend. What a relief to have that taken care of!
